Erin Holwell, B. A. Sc. – Associate, Building Science
Erin Holwell is a graduate of the Civil Engineering program at Queen’s University, with a focus on structural design. During her studies, she completed technical courses in infrastructure rehabilitation, pre-stressed concrete design, reinforced concrete design, and structural steel design. Her experience has provided her with a background in contract administration, construction inspection and field surveys.
During her last year at Queen’s University, Erin acted as the Project Manager for a capstone design project. Her team completed the design of a flooring system for a Hospital located in Toronto, Ontario. The structural analysis incorporated the gravity loads applicable to the post-disaster building, as well as lateral loading, such as the wind and earthquake loads. Erin’s team was awarded the Stantec Award in Civil Engineering Design for the completion of the project. Her team was also selected to represent Queen’s University in the Canadian Society of Civil Engineers’ Capstone Design Competition held at the Society’s annual conference in Vancouver.
